Who is Allianz Global Assistance?
How is Allianz Global Assistance (AGA) different from Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company (BAGIC)?
While AGA is a travel assistance company fully owned by Allianz, BAGIC is a joint venture between Bajaj Finserv Limited of India and Allianz SE of Germany. When you buy a travel insurance policy from us, the monetary reimbursements are underwritten by BAGIC, while the emergency assistance services are provided by AGA.
I have not seen any AGA offices. Which is the one nearest to me?
Allianz Global Assistance does not have front offices in India. We’re online travel insurance and assistance providers. Think of us as an online store for travel insurance. Internationally however, we have many offices to assist travellers in times of need. We do however have a corporate office in India, should you need to contact us.

Is this an online travel insurance only?
Yes. For all practical purposes, the entire process is completely online, from buying to claiming, to receiving the claim. Though you can also always call us on +91 124 4343838 and we'd be happy to assist you on the phone.
Is Allianz Global Assistance an insurance company? Why doesn’t it say so in your name?
Technically, no. We’re not a travel insurance company. We’re a travel assistance company, and we’re also corporate agents for Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company, who in turn rely on us to provide travel assistance services to their customers too.
How much does a policy cost?
The cost of a travel insurance policy, known as premium, depends on a lot of variables, like the destination of your travel, the duration of your trip, the number of people travelling, and their age. You can find out the exact cost here.
I’m wary of paying online. Is my money and account information safe?
Allianz Global Assistance uses a secure payment gateway that enables transactions directly and securely with your bank. We do not see, record or store your details in any form. A 40bit encrypted SSL Web Server Certificate ensures any information is encrypted or scrambled, making it impossible to intercept or steal.
Can I cancel the policy?
Of course. You can get a full refund of your premium, but only if you cancel the policy within 48 hours of receiving your documents.
In case of Schengen cover, premium refunds are only considered for single trip cover, and when you are either unable to obtain the necessary visas or the policy does not meet your requirements. Just notify us within 48 hours of receiving your policy schedule, or the start date of the policy, whichever is earlier and return all your documents for a refund of your premium.

Can Non Resident Indians buy a travel insurance policy from Allianz Global Assistance India?
Unfortunately, no. Only resident Indians can buy a policy from this website. But we have offices across the world, so you could buy a policy from the AGA website of your country. See all our global locations here.
Does it matter which travel agent I have booked my trip with?
I travel abroad a lot of times. Is there a combo-policy that covers all my travels?
Yes. Allianz Global Assistance has an annual multi-trip policy that covers you for 180 travel days spread across the year, whenever you travel. You can find out more about it, here.
Is there an age-limit for your travel insurance policies?
Yes. All our policies, except the Travel Age Elite Plan, have a cut-off age of 60 years. For the Travel Age Elite Plan, the insured has to be aged between 61-70 years.
When does the cover begin and end?
For a single trip insurance plan, when the cover begins and ends depends on the dates you choose while buying the policy. Ideally, you should choose the date your journey begins and the date you come back home, as the beginning and end dates of your cover.
A multi-trip policy terminates on the expiry date of the policy.
What is the maximum duration of my trip that will be covered?
180 days. Even if you have an annual multi-trip cover, the duration of a single trip cannot exceed beyond 45 days, for you to still be covered.
Do I get a refund if I come back home early?
No. Single trip policies terminate when you come back, while annual multi-trip policies just deduct the number of days you were away, from your total cover duration. Neither policy gives you any refunds.
Am I covered for any existing medical conditions?
No. Please refer to the health declaration and exclusions guide for more information.
Am I covered for loss of cash?
Not unless your policy specifically mentions it as one of the offerings.
How will I receive my policy documents?
Once you buy your policy online, you will receive an email confirming your purchase, along with the policy number and all the necessary policy documents. You can also download the policy document here to view the terms and conditions of the cover.
Can I purchase a policy if I have already started my trip?
No. Insurance can only be bought before you begin your travel. If you’re currently travelling without insurance, we wish you the best of luck.

Can I claim even if I don’t have receipts for any of my lost personal possessions?
Of course. We do not expect people to maintain receipts for each and every item they own, but we might ask you to prove ownership of the lost or stolen items, in the simplest of ways – photographs, warranty cards, manuals, credit card statements from when you bought the article, or absolutely anything that proves you owned the item in question.
